Following his commission to the Royal
Marines aged 18, Bruce became the
youngest officer to be in charge of all aspects
of their commando physical training.
Serving in Norway and Iraq fired up his taste
for exploring, so when he left the forces,
Bruce was soon leading conservation
expeditions to Borneo, Java and Sumatra.

His zeal for conservation and his mission to
understand indigenous cultures can be seen
in programmes such as Amazon and the
award-winning Tribe.
