The creators of the acclaimed hit show Victorian Farm return to uncover the lost world of the Edwardian “Working Countryside” in a scale and scope never before seen, in this new landmark historical observational series.

Working for a full year, historian Ruth Goodman and archaeologists Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn will bring Morwellham Farm back to life. Reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit of the era, they also expand their horizons to explore a vibrant and diverse community where farming, market gardening, mining and fishing came together.

Recreating the traditional life of Edwardian farmers and a host of lost skills and craftsmanship, this fascinating series provides a unique insight into an era on the brink of transformation.

    Peter, Ruth and Alex should be rightly proud of themselves not only for their achievements but also the education and knowledge they are conveying to possibly millions of people. I've been glued to every episode. I'm incredibly envious of all 3. And Ruth, you are the cheekiest devil I've seen on TV in ages.

    These series have been so interesting and informative,the presenters are just a delight.With each episode it's like renewing acquaintance with old and dear friends.I'd be happy to watch as many as they care to make.

    this is a terrific series! its great that youve followed on from Victorian Farm. any plans to do a series on modern farming from war/post war etc?
